NEED A HAND?

Rat Run: The Great Escape supports portrait-mode iPhones running iOS 17 or later. The complete game works offline and does not require an account.

How to play

  1. Tap START.
  2. Drag horizontally in the lower control area—including on the rat or slightly ahead of it—to guide the rat.
  3. Race through The Sewers, pass through wall gaps and avoid loose blocks, traps, snakes, broken grates and steam vents.
  4. Run farther to increase DIST. Collect cheese for your persistent stash and cosmetic-rat unlocks; cheese and walls do not add score.

Sound, music, haptics and motion

Tap PAUSE during a run to change Music, Sound, Haptics or Motion. Auto follows the iPhone Reduce Motion setting. Comfort reduces decorative motion and floor prominence. Full uses all visual effects.

Distance, cheese and Rat Record

Your device distance BEST, career totals, cheese stash and equipped rat are stored locally and survive ordinary app updates. Open RATS from the splash or RAT RECORD after a run to view progress and equip an unlocked appearance. Deleting the app removes that local data.

Daily Sewer and reminders

Tap DAILY on the splash to run the course generated for the current UTC date. Every player on the same game rules gets the same course that day, with unlimited attempts until it resets at midnight UTC.

The Daily reminder is optional and off by default. If you enable it, Rat Run asks for notification permission and schedules an alert locally at your chosen time. A tap opens Daily Sewer. You can switch the reminder off in Daily Sewer or manage permission in iPhone Settings.

Game Center

Game Center is optional. When you are signed in, Rat Run: The Great Escape submits completed-run distance and achievement progress to Apple. Use LEADERBOARD for Classic Distance or DAILY LEADERBOARD for today's recurring Daily Sewer board. A temporary network failure does not block play; eligible pending progress is retried when Game Center reconnects. Your device BEST remains available locally and the complete game remains playable offline or while signed out.

The leaderboard is unavailable

Check that Game Center is signed in and allowed in iPhone Settings, then reopen Rat Run: The Great Escape. If you are offline, reconnect and try the trophy button again. Apple controls Game Center accounts and service availability.

Troubleshooting

I cannot hear music or sound

Check the Rat Run: The Great Escape pause menu, the iPhone volume and Silent Mode. If another audio app interrupted playback, close and reopen the game.

I cannot feel haptics

Confirm Haptics is enabled in both Rat Run: The Great Escape and iPhone Settings. Haptic feedback can vary by device and system configuration.

The screen movement feels uncomfortable

Pause the run and select Comfort under Motion. You can also enable Reduce Motion in iPhone Accessibility settings and leave Rat Run: The Great Escape on Auto.

The app closes or behaves unexpectedly

Relaunch Rat Run: The Great Escape and make sure iOS is up to date. If the problem continues, contact us with the app version, iPhone model, iOS version and the steps that reproduce it.

Never send an Apple ID password or other account credentials.
